No. 14 Squadron Corsairs, NZ5636 and NZ5615 at Iwakuni airfield, Japan.
The pilots had their luggage in the drop tanks for the transfer to Bofu from Iwakuni.
NB. NZ5615 was believed to be the only Corsair to survive the burning at Bofu.
