DL Prichard's log book records "War Operations. Blitz on Cologne. Dropped 6x500, 1x250 on west side of city. Results not observed owing to haze. Medium A.A & searchlight. Attacked by a Heinkel 111 50 miles west of target. Fired one burst at us with cannon & M.G. Putting rear turret out of action and making hydraulics U/S. Crashed on landing with no flaps, no brakes & bomb doors open. Port undercarriage collapsed on hitting bump at end of drome. No casualties."

DL Prichard's log book entry records: "War Operations. Attacked Gneisenau & Scharnhorst berthed at Brest. Results not observed. 5x 500, 1x 250. Rear Gunner show down Me110 bearing 027 [degrees] Brest 68 miles. Collided with another a/c (Blenheim) 1m. S. of Bridport. Forced landed at Boscombe Down. Damage fairly severe, nobody injured. Port wing, elevators & tail plane & rear turret damaged."
The Rear Gunner, Flying Officer William Davenport Brown, was awarded a DFC for this action.
